Post Festivals
For those who send their shorts or features to film festivals- which one do you folks send your stuff to? Any that you recommend staying away from?

Post Re: Festivals
If you know anyone who helps run a festival or is a judge at a particular festival, this is a very good place to start. A lot of festivals are 'fixed' in my opinion and will quite often have a large majority of their lineup set in place prior to receiving most of their entries (which they'll be cashing in on).

Here in Scotland, I have first hand experience of mediocre films getting acceptance into festivals just because they 'know the right people.'

I've had films played at about 20 festivals thus far but I've only attended one. I'd start locally and see how you get on. I believe local films usually have a slight edge.
